[서울-펜타프레스: 2012/09/19] 아리랑TV (사장 손지애)가 1997년 2월 국내 케이블로 첫 방송을 시작한 이래 최근 전세계 188개국 1억3백만 수신가구를 달성했다. 이를 시청자 수로 환산하면 3억3천만 명이 넘는것으로 나타났다. 이번 아리랑 TV가 전 세계 1억 수신가구를 돌파함으로서 방송을 통해 자국을 홍보하기 위해 설립된 각국의 국제방송 시장에서 대한민국이 억 이상의 수신가구를 보유한 방송사를 보유하게 됐다. 아리랑TV는 한국관련 다양한 소식과 K-POP 등 한류를 전 세계를 대상으로 효과적으로 전할 수 있게 됐다.
