DAEGU, SOUTH KOREA - AUG 27: Hye-lim Jung (KOR) takes the lead during Heat 4/5 of the 100 Metres Women – Preliminary Round at the IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 at Daegu Stadium, Daegu, South Korea. Kaina Martinez [BIZ/12.14 (PB)] ranked first for Heat 1/5; Delphine Atangana [CMR/11.57) for Heat 2/5; Phobay Kutu-Akoi [LBR/11.62] for Heat 3/5; Hye-lim Jung [KOR/11.90] for Heat 4/5; Norjannah Hafiszah Jamaludin [MAS/12.06] for heat 5/5. The world record for this category has not been broken since being set by Florence Griffith-Joyner [USA/10.49] in the quarterfinals of the 1988 US Olympic Trials. For nine days, the world’s finest athletes converge at the IAAF World Championship Daegu 2011 to break and set world records and personal bests.
